Grand Haven Wedding | Samantha & Andrew

Grand Haven, Michigan Wedding

When it comes to being able to combine the traditions of a wedding day with the actual uniqueness of a couple getting married, it’s tricky. There are aspects that you might want to keep and yet bring into the modern-day times and I’m happy to assure you that Samantha and Andrew were able to do just for their Grand Haven Wedding!

Spoiler alert, my personal favorite idea of theirs was to have their First Look with Samantha in the very aisle she would walk down just a few hours later with Andrew standing at the altar to turn around to see her. It would be quite similar to what Andrew would see during their Catholic ceremony at St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church but again, would be modernized so it was just for the two of them to enjoy without the pressure of everyone else’s eyes on you. This was one of many moments that nearly brought tears to my eyes but I had to keep capturing everything so no time for tears!

Having a First Look made it possible for us to have a moment (or like 5) for Samantha’s Cathedral length veil, get the formal Family Portraits done, and we would be able to have the fun wedding party photos at the marina instead trying to cram those in later. Basically, these two were able to have it all! Time for themselves and the real party they wanted for their wedding!

My second personal favorite moment was Andrew literally carrying Samantha down the rest of the aisle, a move that surprised and delighted all guests! This also was a tribute to Samantha’s parents who did the same thing at their wedding. Again, bringing those creative ideas into modern-day times!

My last, but certainly not least, favorite idea was the gift passed down from Andrew’s grandparents, to his parents, and on to Andrew and Samantha of the bread so you may always be full, the wine so you may always have something good to drink and the coin so you won’t ever be completely broke. These two fed each other, wrapped their arms around each other to drink the wine, and clicked the coins together! It was a beautiful and fun moment during the reception.

The rest of what you’ll find as you scroll through this beautiful day is laughter, joy, dips, twirls, and a whole lot of Andrew proclaiming to the world (and complete strangers) that he and Samantha we married as they partied on the back of their Trolley. Like I said in their engagement blog, Grand Haven just seemed like it was there for the two of them.

You guys are going to rock this whole being married thing. Thanks for sharing your day with me!

Remember when I said I loved their First Look? Here is it!

And enter one of MANY times when Andrew made sure the world of Grand Haven knew he had married the love of his life! Check out those smiles!

Congrats you two!!!
