There are so many exciting events leading up to your wedding day. One of my favorite must-have events is the bridal shower! Whether you’re a bride, mother of the bride, maid of honor, or bridesmaid, check out my tips for throwing the ultimate bridal shower!
Memorable Venue:
The biggest challenge when planning an event is finding the right venue. Once you have an amazing venue that fits your vision and style, the rest falls into place. I love helping clients find unique venues that guests haven’t been to before, or are unexpected. Consider a local museum, art gallery, rooftop, or outdoor venue. If you select a restaurant, find one that is relatively new or has a really cool private room. For Southwest Michigan brides reading this, consider a brewery, winery, or farm. These are popular wedding venues, but many also host showers!
Delicious Food:
I incorporate memorable culinary elements into events, so awesome food is on my “must-have” list. Consider hiring a caterer! It’s those special touches and details that have guests talking about your event long after it’s over. Oh, and don’t forget the bubbly and a signature cocktail! Create a fun name for your signature cocktail that is meaningful to you!
Instagram-Worthy Backdrop:
If it’s not on Instagram, it didn’t happen, right? Just kidding. But, for your Instagram loving friends, you’ll want a really cool photo backdrop. Think about a flower/grass wall or balloons that spell out a fun phrase (e.g. #Cheers or #SheSaidYes). Guests can pose for selfies and group pics, and it gives them something fun to do while eating and drinking.
Bespoke Party Favors:
Give out fun party favor that people might actually use. I like food items (did I mention that I LOVE food)? You can get unique yet affordable candies and chocolates online. Some of my favorites are Sugarfina,Le Bon Macaron, and Chuao Chocolatier.
Unique Party Games/Activities:
How many times have we done the “make a bridal gown” game? Nothing wrong with it, but add a few other unexpected activities. Maybe it’s a “Date Jar” where guests write date ideas on a piece of paper and place it in a jar for the couple to read after the wedding. Or, you can have a fun activity like calligraphy, flower crowns, or a DIY dessert bar.
Photographer:
With all of these fun elements at the shower, you might not have a chance to snap a picture of everything with your phone. I suggest hiring a photographer for a couple hours to document the event. This is a great way to capture the memories, because your bridal shower will be…Epic!
