Twin Lakes Golf Club Wedding

This wedding day is what I mean when I say I photograph couples’ joy, excitement, and LOVE! This wedding is it people! Stephanie bursting with excitement, Craig unable to contain his overflowing emotions, a wedding party up for anything, loving, supportive parents, and so many others all gathered round for THIS! Welcome to Stephanie and Craig’s Twin Lakes Golf Club Wedding day!!!

I began the day with all of the ladies running early for hair and makeup! That is practically unheard of! But it allowed me to collect Stephanie’s details like their rings from Helzberg Diamonds, her dress from Fantastic Finds, and even some extra ribbon that I really enjoyed using to show off some fall colors immediately in their bridal details! Did I mention that all of this was so nicely packed up in a picnic basket? I hope Stephanie and Craig will use that quite often in the future or at least for every anniversary!

From there, it really was a whirlwind as my second shooter, Megan, headed up to the guys to get a few quick photos of Craig before everyone needed to head over to St Paul’s United Methodist Church in Rochester, Michigan. During that time, boutonnières were put on the gentlemen’s jackets, Stephanie shared a sentimental First Look with her dad, and each displayed very different emotions. Both were extremely ready to get married of course, but Craig couldn’t stop his tears of joy and love from falling while Stephanie was basically jumping up and down with pure excitement!

It was just a few short moments later that they would see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Stephanie’s dad beamed down the aisle as he escorted his daughter, unhindered pride shining on his face. Stephanie herself, looked like if it wasn’t for her dad, she might have ran up that aisle instead of soaking in the moment. And also, can we please also take a few seconds to enjoy the way Craig gazed at his bride? Ugh, I am in love with love! You’ll see those photos when you keep scrolling but don’t go anywhere just yet!

While prayers, vows, and a unity candle was lit, the couple finally kissed and we were off to the rest of the day including family portraits, a few fun portraits with a vintage mustang, and a bubble exit!

It’s crazy how much you can pack into one wedding day, isn’t it? Once we arrived at Twin Lakes Golf Club, the staff was ready for us with golf carts and the wedding party, Megan and I all headed out to the course! It was there that the perfection of fall could be seen! In case you want my professional opinion, you still want to have greenery around for fall colors because it really makes those reds, yellows, and oranges POP! And pop they did to make the perfect backdrop for this fun group!

What I loved about this couple having an early ceremony time meant that guests got to relax before heading over to cocktail hour AND Stephanie and Craig got to join in for all of it! This meant that they could begin talking to those that had traveled from near and far immediately instead of being pulled off the dance floor every 3 seconds! Cocktail hour itself included lots of laughter, catching up, and football game-watching.

Once the wedding party made their grand entrance in, we were delighted by the toasts from Cameron and Emily. Each got the crowd going by sharing different takes on their relationships with the couple and having watched them grow together while also sharing a few fun stories from DIY projects gone wrong to a few stories from childhood as Cameron and Craig are twins and are literally each other’s ‘Day Ones.’

After the toasts, a plated dinner followed and it was off to dancing and general merriment! I’ll leave you with this before you keep scrolling. A couple like Stephanie and Craig don’t come around all of the time, make sure that your love and support for them as they continue their married lives in happiness!
