As their wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing their engagement photos at the breathtaking Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Mears, Michigan. Join me as I share their journey and the unique beauty of this location.
Allie is a nurse, dedicating her life to saving others. Rob, on the other hand, hails from England and loves football, he actually coaches as well. These two lovebirds met through mutual friends and quickly fell for each other. As they planned their wedding day, they wanted a location that spoke to their sense of adventure and love for nature. That’s when they discovered Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and their hearts were set on capturing their engagement photos there.
Located in Mears, Michigan, Silver Lake Sand Dunes offers a unique experience that truly sets it apart from other locations. Michigan allows visitors to hike the sand dunes, and that’s exactly what we did. As we climbed to the top, we were met with rolling hills and off-roading jeeps making trails in the distance. They took on the view of Lake Michigan while we took on the view of Silver Lake from the top. To me, it looked like a scene straight from Lake Como in Italy. At least, in a VERY small sense. It was truly an on-top-of-the-world experience!
Silver Lake Sand Dunes offer a range of activities that cater to all kinds of adventurers. You can drive through the dunes with your off-road vehicle or rent a dune buggy to explore the area. Alternatively, you can hike up to the top and take in the breathtaking views. The location is perfect for those who love outdoor activities and want to experience something unique and unforgettable.
Allie and Rob were keen to capture their love in this magnificent location, and I am thrilled to be their wedding photographer. As we explored the dunes, I was struck by the natural beauty of the area. Allie’s infectious smile and Rob’s charming demeanor made them a dream to photograph.

The venue is surrounded by lush greenery, and the white, modern barn provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic and intimate ceremony.
