Ravines Golf Club Saugatuck Wedding | Sara & Spencer

Family traditions, a gorgeous fall day, and two souls with the biggest hearts excitedly moving forward into the next steps of their lives together. This is what is was like in Saugatuck, Michigan this past Saturday and I am so excited to share it all with you! Welcome to Sara and Spencer’s Ravines Golf Club Saugatuck Wedding day!

As usual, we started the day by photographing some of the smaller details and naturally, Sara left no stone (or diamond ring) unturned. I had everything needed to capture gorgeous details of their wedding invitations, rings, and especially a few photos using Sara’s bouquet that Jess from Sweetwater South of Sweetwater Floral made!!!!

That whole time seemed to fly by in a flash and soon, it was time for Sara and Spencer to get dressed in their separate Airbnb’s. Sara in her wedding dress from Becker’s Bridal and Spencer in his suit from Men’s Wearhouse. They each had help from family and after they put on their finishing touches, it was time for the moment they’d been bursting to the brim to have – their First Look.

I’m not sure who held it together better when Sara and Spencer finally saw one another but I can guarantee you it wasn’t me! Sara used her grandmother’s handkerchief to dry her tears and Spencer almost forgot to take a full look at Sara’s entire dress as he was too excited to finally be with his person! These moments are the ones you live for as a wedding photographer!

It was shortly after that the two read their personal vows to one another in peace before the rest of the day began and we took off with wedding party portraits before heading to downtown Saugatuck!

It was downtown, right next to The Butler, that we used the giant willow tree to get any remaining portraits needed and I got to really use Sara’s cathedral-length veil!!!! I’m not quite sure how to describe it but Spencer looks at Sara in the way that all Disney fairytales princes do and I’m sorry but it’s true. Actually, I’m not sorry because I love it! I personally can’t wait for you to see THOSE photos but don’t scroll just yet!

As we ended at the willow tree and moved on to The Ravines, the fall colors were popping and the sunshine was perfect for their ceremony! Their ceremony included fun stories of how the two met and their best people, Jenna and Daniel, helped with the Knot ceremony. There were plenty of laughs, tears, and promises of forever that probably won’t be all that difficult to keep because if you know Sara and Spencer, well… you know. Keeping promises to love and communicate and to continue to grow together is just what these two do naturally!

They carried that amazing energy right into their cocktail hour, grand entrance, and speeches! The speeches highlighted family, Ludacris, and advice from Spencer’s grandparents who have been together the longest!

From there, the reception was all about the party! The dance floor remained packed, the drinks flowed, and QC Event Sound kept things going smoothly with his brilliant song mixing! I always love a good DJ that keeps the crowd excited to see what comes next!
