New Vintage Place Wedding
Obviously, I know when wedding days are going to be special but when you pull up to a grand church like St. Alphonsus Parish for Kyle & Zach’s Catholic ceremony, you’re still blown away. And yes, I will talk about the rain a little bit here because it did play a major factor in location options on the day but what I want everyone to remember was that these two bring the love and joy and PARTY everywhere with them no matter what! So let’s dive right into this New Vintage Place wedding day in Grand Rapids, Michigan!
As I had just mentioned, we started off at St. Alphonsus Parish with its cinematic architecture, beautiful stained glass windows, and a really long aisle for Zach to get the full view of Kyle in her stunning dress from Dearly Loved Bridal.
Kyle and Zach opted out of a First Look with each other and instead decided that having a First Look with Kyle and her dad and brothers and Zach with his mom would be best. I agree! Sometimes parents can get lost in the hustle and bustle of making sure everyone is ready and then they can begin hosting as guests walk in before the ceremony that these special moments were perfect to really give these parents time!
After their ceremony, it was downpouring. And while this could have put a damper on the entire day, we were able to make a quick shift to have all of the wedding party portraits at New Vintage Place which is a beautiful, industrial building on the other side of the river from downtown Grand Rapids. And I know that the wedding party will be itching to see a lot of those fun portraits they took, I’m going to save them for the final gallery.
We utilized the second-floor area of New Vintage place and used as much natural light as we could for portraits before having some bigger family photos, including a portrait request by Grandma to have one of all of her grandkids and their significant others. Those ones did give me a run for my money but I hope this family likes them!
We were even able to take a few minutes for just Kyle & Zach to practice their first dance choreography while everyone else was enjoying their signature drinks, the Smitten Photo Booth, and the general fun of being together during cocktail hour.
The reception started with a perfect twirl by Kyle, brilliant speeches from Kyle’s Maid of Honor and Zach’s two Best Men, a cake cutting that included a little figurine of Kobe who was there in spirit, and even a few minutes outside with my clear umbrellas for a few portraits!!! This wedding day was so much fun to photograph and I can’t wait for you to see it all!
Congrats you two!
