Fall Engagement | Kalamazoo Nature Center
It’s always special when I get to photograph another Stephanie, especially one as great as this Stephanie! I was excited when she reached out after finding me on The Knot. She told me that she and Craig were excited to get their engagement photos taken for their Save the Dates and were hoping to find time on my schedule so we might hopefully see some color on the trees in October. I’m excited to say that we were able to make their fall engagement session happen!
While many of you might know this already, fall is a VERY busy time of year for myself and most photographers because so many agree that it’s a beautiful time of year in Michigan and want their photos taken during this time of year. As we were thinking of locations, Stephanie suggested the Kalamazoo Nature Center and I thought it looked perfect!
I was so happy these two trusted me so we went walking along a path and I think that we were able to really make this area look like fall for them. We then found the ONE tree that had color on it so obviously, I wasn’t going to pass up using it! I knew I’d have to look silly to get the photo but luckily, these Stephanie and Craig are super easy to photograph, laugh easily with one another, and were up for whatever crazy idea I had to put a few leaves in front of my camera! Their easy nature will be something that I’m also really excited to photograph next year when they get married at Twin Lakes Golf Club in Oakland!
Personally, I was enamored by the way Craig leans into Stephanie’s giggles. It’s like they bring him peace. She, likewise, is always ready for his silly jokes and the reminders from him that life should be filled with joy. They’re a perfect match!
