Nestled in the serene beauty of Bay Pointe Woods in Shelbyville, Michigan, just south of Grand Rapids on the enchanting Gun Lake, a love story came full circle. Raylene and Brandon, a couple who had spent nine incredible years together, embarked on their journey to forever in a wedding filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments. As the wedding photographer for this magical day, I had the privilege of capturing their love and the precious memories created at this picturesque oasis.

The day began like any other, but there was an air of quiet excitement as Brandon, the groom, eagerly anticipated the moment he would lay eyes on his bride, Raylene, in her modern and timeless Becker’s Bridal gown. Stepping into the cabin where she was getting ready, Raylene greeted everyone with her infectious smile, exuding charisma, radiance, and emanating happiness in every way.

The anticipation reached its peak as Raylene prepared to don her wedding attire. In a heartbeat, Brandon turned around, beholding his bride in all her beauty. Heading to Bay Pointe Inn, we took advantage of the stunning surroundings. With no other weddings happening that day, we had the tranquil docks all to ourselves. The gentle breeze from Gun Lake offered respite from the scorching heat, allowing me to capture breathtaking photos of Raylene and Brandon. As we worked, a group of tubers on the lake cheered on the couple, their excitement adding to the cheerful atmosphere.

Gathering their wedding party back at Bay Pointe Woods, we made use of the covered porch area, typically reserved for cocktail hour. The entire group looked sleek and modern in their elegant all-black attire. Taking intermittent breaks in the air-conditioned reception space, we ventured out into the 90-degree heat for more portraits, ensuring we captured the essence of their special day.

The couple’s chocolate lab, Duke, joined us for his own photoshoot, showcasing his dapper attire. Duke’s impeccable behavior and perfect smiles towards the camera earned him numerous treats and compliments. He added an extra touch of charm to the day and warmed our hearts just by being the goodest of good boys.

After Duke’s moment in the spotlight, we focused on capturing portraits of the immediate family. Amidst laughter and the mischievous antics of the lively grandparents, I captured the bonds and cherished connections that make weddings so memorable. The time finally arrived for Raylene and Brandon’s ceremony.
