Chic Downtown Chicago Wedding: Capturing Love at The Exchange
As a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based wedding photographer, I often find myself immersed in the beauty of diverse locations throughout the Midwest. Recently, I had the pleasure of journeying to downtown Chicago for a stunning Labor Day weekend celebration at The Exchange on Michigan Ave. Collaborating with Laura Waldron Photography, a talented Chicago Wedding Photographer, we embarked on a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
I began the wedding day at the couple’s home in the Lincoln Park area where Andy, the groom, was eagerly anticipating his first look with his bride, MacKenzie, at Raised, an Urban Rooftop Bar at The Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel. Set against the backdrop of Chicago’s skyline, the couple’s emotions overflowed as they beheld each other in their exquisite wedding attire. Andy looked dashing in a classic black tuxedo, accentuated by a sleek black bowtie, while MacKenzie exuded elegance in a modern wedding gown.
The Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel provided a luxurious setting for this special moment, offering panoramic views and sophisticated ambiance. From the rooftop on the hotel, the couple reveled in the excitement of the day, savoring every second of this time alone on their wedding day.
Following the first look, we embarked on a journey through the heart of Chicago, capturing portraits of the newlyweds against iconic landmarks such as the Chicago Board of Trade Building and Milton Lee Olive Park, and The Art Institute of Chicago’s South Garden. Against the backdrop of the city’s skyline, the couple’s love radiated, creating timeless images to cherish for a lifetime.
Arriving at The Exchange, our excitement only intensified as we were greeted by the venue’s elegant ambiance and modern charm. The Exchange offers a unique blend of historic architecture and contemporary style, making it the perfect backdrop for a chic and sophisticated wedding celebration. With its spacious layout and versatile event spaces, The Exchange provides couples with endless possibilities to customize their dream wedding.
The ceremony was met with roughly 200 excited guests in black-tie elegant attire. The couple shared sweet vows with one another and several moments of laughter with each other and their guests.
The reception that followed was a joyous affair, filled with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt speeches. Against the backdrop of The Exchange’s stylish interiors, the newlyweds celebrated their union surrounded by loved ones, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
