When a couple finds you on TikTok and they just know they have to have you as their wedding photographer how could I not feel so completely honored and in awe?!?! Shannon & Mike live in Florida and are getting married at CityFlats Hotel in Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan and had a Riverside Park engagement session. When Shannon reached out to me, I was still in awe that TikTok had brought a potential couple to me and I think I might have just changed that little part on my contact page to include the app as a source of inquiry.

It also meant that I could feel the pressure was on for their engagement session. I already knew I could talk to these two are super easy to get along with but man, did I just feel this need to make it all perfect. I mean, they’re planning a wedding while living out of state in one of your favorite Grand Rapids venues, how could you NOT feel the pressure?

We chose Riverside Park near downtown because originally Shannon and Mike wanted those fall leaves that they don’t see anymore in Florida’s tropical climate but as fate would have it, they could only make so many trips to Michigan work in such a short time.

So we dealt with the end of summer heat and while they might have missed the fall colors, you all know I’m all about the summer so I was ecstatic for this change. The greens really helped these two pop in their outfits, especially that second, all-white dress of Shannon’s and Mike’s light blue and tan attire.

We laughed about random TikTok trends like Bama Sorority Tok while also discussing what they wanted their wedding day to be like. They’ll be having a First Look in a private area I’ll share on their wedding day blog itself (come back next June when you can to see it) and their big day is one of the weddings I’m looking forward to most in 2022! And it all started with a TikTok and a follow to which will lead to what I can bet will be a super fun marriage!
