Grosse Pointe War Memorial Wedding | Alex & Craig

A Classic Upscale Affair

Alex and Craig’s Grosse Pointe War Memorial Wedding

If there’s one thing that Alex and Craig wanted for their wedding day, it was to create a classic and upscale experience that would bring their family and friends together in celebration. Located in the beautiful city of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, the Grosse Pointe War Memorial provided the perfect backdrop for their dream wedding.

The day started off with a buzz of excitement at the Hollywood Greektown Hotel in downtown Detroit. As the bride, Alex, got ready with her bridesmaids, the suite was filled with laughter, music, and the aroma of hairspray. Alex’s beaming smile was contagious, and her mother couldn’t help but shed a few tears of happiness. The bridesmaids were even practicing their dance moves, getting ready to make the most of the memorable day.

Once Alex was dressed, arrangements were made to ensure that the couple could have a private first look before the ceremony. As I drove in the car with Craig, he expressed his immense happiness about their decision to have a first look, realizing that without it, the day would have felt much longer without Alex by his side.

The shaded area with Lake St. Clair in view at Grosse Pointe War Memorial was chosen as the spot for their first look. With Craig facing the water and anticipation building up, Alex made her way towards him. It was a truly magical moment as they laid eyes on each other, their faces filled with pure happiness. Capturing this beautiful moment was a privilege, as it perfectly encapsulated the love and excitement they shared. After capturing some stunning portraits around the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, the couple was joined by their energetic wedding party.

The wedding party arrived with drinks flowing, exuding timeless elegance and an eagerness to celebrate. I couldn’t help but laugh as I captured their formal portraits mixed with moments of silly fun. We made use of the regal steps, where their ceremony would later take place, and we ended with breathtaking views of Lake St. Clair, where onlookers on boats and yachts joined in the excitement of the wedding festivities.

Following the wedding party portraits, we swiftly moved on to capturing formal family portraits. This allowed Alex and Craig to later join their cocktail hour, cherishing time with their loved ones and making the most of the dance floor. Finally, the moment arrived for their ceremony. With Cindy officiating, the couple stood at the top of the elegant stairs at The War Memorial, their eyes filled with tears of joy and heartfelt glances exchanged. This was the moment they had been waiting for, a moment that marked the beginning of their journey as a married couple.

As the ceremony concluded, Alex and Craig did what they did best—they brought people together. Whether it was sharing hugs, laughs, drinks, or dancing, their presence was a magnet for joy and merriment. It was evident that this day was a blur of wonderfulness, with smiles radiating from everyone’s faces. The photos captured throughout the day tell the story better than my words ever could.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this glimpse into Alex and Craig’s unforgettable Grosse Pointe War Memorial Wedding Day. It was a day filled with love, happiness, and the coming together of cherished friends and family. May their journey as a married couple be as beautiful and joyous as this remarkable celebration.
