Bay Pointe Woods Wedding | Abbie & Sean

Colorful Fall Bay Pointe Woods Wedding

The energy to begin the day was filled with organization and readiness. That’s the best way I can describe it because Abbie had every detail planned to perfection while Sean was eager to make it all happen for them. The combination was ideal, especially with the looming possibility of rain for this October day. I can’t wait to share all of Abbie and Sean’s Bay Pointe Woods wedding day with you!

I began the day a little early to scope out potential options in case the rain really did make its appearance and when I arrived, hair and makeup were already done with many of the bridesmaids working in full swing bringing together the vision for the reception space. It was an all-hands-on-deck kind of day!

My first task was to photograph all of their beautiful details from Abbie’s Badgley Mischka shoes to Sean’s patterned pocket square and everything in between. Once I was done there, the real fun began as each got fully ready in their respective cottages and Abbie proceeded with her first look marathon!

Up first was her dad. He shared a memory of Abbie growing up that sent them both into tears. I also noticed Abbie’s mom was cleverly hidden in the background and was also tearing up. It was a beautiful moment to capture and witness.

On the next round of first looks was the wedding party, the ladies went first and were the epitome of happiness and jubilance as they turned around to see Abbie’s full look. The kind of friendships you want in life are the ones who are equally as excited as you are for one of the best days of your life!

Abbie’s third first look involved the groomsmen. I had fun putting this one together because it was a full-on prank to “ice” the guys with Smirnoffs. We set them up, they were told to be ready to “ooo” and “aahhh” which quickly turned to delighted and real surprised faces as they realized what had happened!

And lastly, the final first look of the day was between the bride and groom themselves. Sean had also been tricked a little by Abbie about what her dress would look like so his delight and then pure emotion was not only extremely fun to witness but moving to capture! He cried, Abbie cried, I might have cried – it was all wonderful!

Afterward, we captured their portraits as a couple because the rain held off!!!! The wedding party joined and came with hyped-up energy, and we captured a majority of their family portraits before the ceremony! The ceremony was a time when I’m not sure Sean looked at Abbie like she was his whole world and Abbie looked at Sean like she couldn’t ask for anything better in a person to love. You would have been mesmerized as well if you’d seen them in person and I tried my best to capture it in their photos.

As with every wedding day it seems, once cocktail hour starts, the drinks start flowing, the chatter of cheerful guests gets going and the grand entrances, toasts, cake cutting, and formal dancing begin the reception! This dance floor was packed most of the night and I can’t wait for you to see just this small glimpse into what I captured! For now though, please help me congratulate this couple and enjoy this peek into their extra superb Bay Pointe Woods wedding day!
