Colorful, Fall Wedding near Grand Rapids, Michigan

There was something in the air last weekend that had me hyped up. Could have been the colorful wedding party attire, could have been when I found out Chris has a custom green suit, or when I saw the gorgeous lace detail on Laura’s dress…or, it could have been that the day had the right mixture of party, laid back attitudes, and just…EXCITEMENT for these two! Welcome to Chris and Laura’s Bay Pointe Woods Wedding day!

As I began the day with the buzzing jitters of the wedding party in Laura’s suite, it was full of smiles, chatting, and perhaps more than one mimosa being poured. I loved photographing their details from Laura having her grandma’s purse, their unique ring settings, even right down to the earrings and Chris’ buffalo pin! In case I needed the reminder this wedding day was going to be unique – here it was right in front of me!

Chris got ready in his custom green suit from Napoli’s, Laura got into her Wolsfelt’s Bridal wedding dress and then it was time for these two to share their First Look! Laura was beaming and Chris’ jaw literally dropped open – the best kind of reaction! We then ventured to a little spot on Gun Lake for portraits before meeting the wedding party back at Bay Pointe Woods.

The wedding party was decked out in COLOR. From the different colors of dresses and jumpsuit on Laura’s side to the slick blue on Chris’ side, everyone looked SO good! On top of that, they were so supportive and fun to work with while they made sure this couple felt awesome.

After the wedding party and immediate family photos, we took a quick break while guests arrived and the sky opened up with a little bit of sun and rain that only delayed their ceremony by 10 minutes. I did capture the rain beforehand which you can see while you scroll! I think it’s quite beautiful but it stopped at the right time for their short and sweet ceremony officiated by their mutual friend Jordan who kept things light and fun.

After that, it was cocktail hour leading into a grand entrance leading into toasts by parents and the best people leading into the first dance which led into a dance floor hosted by one of the best! Luxx Entertainment always knows how to get the dance floor going and this group was fun to capture as they shouted at the top of their lungs for certain songs, swung each other around the dance floor, and again, just had FUN!
